Puning is the densest place in Chaoshan for this: twenty-five towns and subdistricts, and hardly a day in the first month with nothing on. 187 entries are collected here, villages on the same day in the same town merged into one cell, the lunar days copied from the sources and the Gregorian converted for 2026 only.

How to read this table
Puning is where it is thickest. From the first of the first month to the thirtieth, twenty-five towns and subdistricts have hardly a day with nothing on; on the fifteenth alone Liusha subdistrict has more than ten villages going at once, Xiajiashan eighteen, Daba twelve.
So the table does not put a village on a line of its own. Villages of the same town on the same day share one cell, separated by commas, and what follows in brackets is the name of the thing — fire-pile jumping, lantern greeting, peanut snatching, torches, the god run. Every village has its own word for it, and the words do not all mean the same act.
There are two kinds. One is the god carried on a palanquin round the bounds. The other is built round a fire — jumping the fire pile, walking the fire path, snatching peanuts, greeting the lanterns — where the fire is the point. Xiajiashan, Junbu, Zhanlong and Daba have the most of them.
A few things to watch. Guolong in Liaoyuan carries the Three Mountain Emperor only in dragon years; Yaocuowei in Qilin turns the god once every two years; the Water Lord at Daba comes out once in three; Guangnan in Liaoyuan keeps it for a single day, and the day has to be settled by throwing the divination blocks; Dalong in Junbu greets the lanterns and carries the god from the night of the fifteenth until it is light. These are in the last column.
The north and the south of Puning are laid out quite differently. In the north — Nanxi, Hongyang, Daba, Chigang, Guangtai — it runs village by village, day after day, and one town can stretch over fifteen or twenty days. In the south — Daping, Chuanpu, Houxi, Gaopu — it is Hakka hill country, and the whole thing is got through in a few days, the third to the sixth of the first month, one village after another.

Sources and notes
The first to the tenth of the first month comes from “Jieyang 2026, the laoze timetable of every village”, compiled by Jieyang Xingkong and published in February 2026, the Puning part marked town by town. The ninth to the thirtieth comes from “Puning 2026, every village in the first month”, reposted by Yujian Puning; that one was compiled by the Lingdong Wangshitang workshop, which edits genealogies, with the photographs by Xiaoqiang. The two overlap on the ninth and tenth; duplicates have been merged, and where they conflict the more specific version is kept.
The Gregorian column is 2026 (bingwu) alone, converted by the Hong Kong Observatory’s table of correspondences. 2026 has no leap month; the thirtieth of the first month falls on 18 March.
Puning’s days are looser than Chaozhou’s or Shantou’s. In one and the same table Landou in Nanxi wades the stream on the seventh, keeps it on the eighth and wades again on the ninth — three days, three different things; and the gate divisions of Chengnei in Hongyang carry the Earth God from the thirteenth right through to the seventeenth. For runs like that the table says “runs on to the fifteenth”, and which day is which still has to be read off the red notice at the village gate.
